Deiveson Figueiredo: a Marajo cowboy who became a two-time flyweight champion
He debuted at UFC 212 in June 2017 with a corner-stoppage TKO of Marco Beltran. His first pro loss came to Jussier Formiga in March 2019. He missed weight for the February 2020 Benavidez fight, won by TKO but was ineligible for the belt, and then won the rematch. He defended against Alex Perez, who replaced Cody Garbrandt. His record stands at 25-8-1 overall after moving up to bantamweight in 2023.

Fight IQ. 86. Alex Perez replaced Cody Garbrandt, who withdrew with a torn bicep, and Figueiredo beat him by guillotine at UFC 255 in November 2020.
BJJ at 90 and a title won by submission
Of his title wins, the Benavidez rematch is the clearest: a technical submission at 4:48 of round one for Performance of the Night. The UFC 256 draw and the UFC 270 decision with Moreno were each Fight of the Night. Pantoja lost a decision at UFC 240, also a Fight of the Night. For a draft, he has a finish for almost any opening.
Strength at 78 and a long slide after 2023
He lost to Moreno in June 2021 and January 2023. Since the move to bantamweight he lost to Petr Yan, Cory Sandhagen, Umar Nurmagomedov, Song Yadong and Payton Talbott. The Sandhagen loss in May 2025 ended with a knee injury. Missed weights before the Benavidez fight and before UFC 324 cost him purse money. A bigger body in the strength slot helps.
