About 25-0

An independent fan project · 331 fighters · 840 rated cards

What this is

25-0 is a free MMA draft game. You spin a year and a weight class, get five fighters from that era, and take one attribute from one of them. Do that eight times and you have a composite fighter — someone else's boxing, someone else's wrestling, a chin borrowed from a third. Then you pick a division and simulate 25 fights to see whether the thing you built can retire undefeated.

There is no sign-up, no account and no paywall. A run lives in your browser tab and disappears when you close it. The only thing that persists is a share link, and that encodes the result into the URL itself rather than into any database.

Where the ratings come from

Every fighter is scored on eight attributes: Boxing, Kickboxing, Wrestling, BJJ, Strength, Durability, Cardio and Fight IQ. The EA Sports UFC games, from Undisputed 3 through UFC 5, were used as a starting baseline — a reference for what a rating scale should look like across those eight categories, and nothing more.

The numbers themselves are ours, built from independent research into each fighter's record, era and performances, plus how a fighter is actually regarded by the MMA community. Every rating then went through an adversarial audit pass to strip out video-game stat inflation, so these numbers frequently disagree with any game's. A fighter's standing and reputation is scored separately and added into their Overall.

Fighters are rated per era, not once. Most appear across several of the seven editions the dataset covers, so a 2012 spin and a 2025 spin can hand you two very different versions of the same person. A fighter who competed at more than one weight has a separate card per division, because the ratings differ.

Two different Overalls

The Overall on a fighter's card is an editorial score. The Overall you see while drafting and simulating is a straight average of the eight attributes you picked. They are calculated differently on purpose: one describes a real fighter, the other describes the composite you assembled. A build has no card, so it cannot have a card rating.

Who makes it

25-0 is built and maintained by one person as an independent fan project, with no promotion, publisher or sponsor behind it. It was inspired by 38-0.app and 84-0.com, which are not affiliated with this project.

Corrections are welcome, and ratings arguments especially. If a fighter is scored wrong, get in touch — the dataset changes when someone makes a good case.
