How Guess Who works
Guess Who is a daily puzzle built on the same ratings as the 25-0 draft game. One mystery UFC fighter is chosen each day. You start with two things on the board: the fighter's peak ratings across the eight attributes, and their division and the years they were active. From there you can guess straight away, or reveal up to 3 hints one at a time: their fighting style, where they come from, and a final giveaway. Name the fighter in as few hints and guesses as you can.
Guesses and hints
You have 5 guesses. Each wrong guess uses one up, and the puzzle ends when you name the fighter, run out of guesses, or choose to reveal the answer. Hints cost nothing but pride: the result shows how many guesses you used and how many hints you needed, so the best possible result is the right name on your first guess with no hints at all. The guess box searches every fighter in the 25-0 dataset by name.
Reading the ratings
The ratings shown are the fighter's peak: the edition in which their eight attributes add up to the most. The shape of the card is usually the strongest clue. A card led by wrestling and BJJ points to a grappler, high boxing and kickboxing to a striker, and a card with no weak number to a well-rounded champion. Division and active years narrow the field further before you reveal anything. For how the ratings themselves are made, see how the ratings are made.
How the daily fighter is picked
The pool is the 292fighters who have a full set of hints written for them. Each day's fighter is picked from your local calendar date, so everyone who plays on the same date gets the same puzzle, and nothing is saved on a server. Well-known names come up more often than obscure ones, so most days land on someone a regular UFC viewer will know. A fighter rated in two divisions appears in the division of their most recent rating.
